January 2013 – Folio Magazine awards Jeannie Stell with Gold Eddie Award
In January 2013, Folio Awards, which is the largest national awards competition in magazine publishing, digital newsletters and websites, awarded Jeannie Stell the Gold Award in the Business To Business: Energy, Utilities and Engineering category.
Folio bestowed the top national prize for Stell’s article, “The Fight For Natural Gas,” published by Hart Energy in the June 2012 issue of Midstream Business.
“I am pleased and honored to accept this award,” said Stell, president of Energy Ink. “And I am proud to work in the energy industry, which continues to drive U.S. economic growth.”
The award ceremony was held at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, New York, New York. The Eddies award recognizes editorial excellence, and is bestowed to the best editorial and creative initiatives.

November 2012 – Business Marketing Association awards Jeannie Stell with Lantern Award of Excellence
In January 2013, the Houston Chapter of Business Marketing Association awarded Jeannie Stell the Lantern Award of Excellence for Midstream Business print magazine, which Hart Energy launched as a new publication in 2010. The magazines won the award in the Magazine-Print/Electronic category.
“As the editor, I worked with Hart to produce and launch this magazine at a time when other newspapers and magazines were shutting down,” said Stell. “Hart Energy saw the need for a midstream publication for the energy industry and took a chance, and it paid off.”
The Business Marketing Association’s Houston chapter created the Lantern Awards of Texas to highlight top-quality creative and strategic business-to-business communications. The ceremony was held on November 29, 2012, at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Houston.

October 2012Energy Ink is formed to support energy industry communications
In October 2012, Jeannie Stell, in conjunction with a group of energy-focused writers, editors, web designers and other professionals, formed Energy Ink to serve as a freelance communication service to the energy industry, among others.
The new company provides print and digital products and services to businesses seeking to outsource publishable articles and feature stories to national and global media.
“We specialize in communicating an energy companies’ core strengths, and free up their executives to focus on the day-to-day building of stakeholder value,” said Stell. “We focus on what we do well, and help them get the word out about what they do well.”
